Good news! The writer David Weigel, who last year wrote a very interesting series of articles, called "Prog Spring" for Slate Magazine, has gotten a go-ahead from W.W. Norton to write a book on the history of prog, "from prehistory to now." He is on his way to London for interviews. I hope old Dusty Rhodes agrees to participate, since this will likely be a worthy effort (based on my reading of the
Prog Spring piece).
Good news? Perhaps for some. The invitation was declined. Being asked to enter a place with The History Of Prog carved on its front door is, for me, rather like being asked to walk into a cell, upon which the door is locked and the key put where only the determined few may find it. Occasionally, paying members of the public visit to stare at the inmate, laugh at his mad antics, and then walk away without further consideration of the inmate’s predicament.
22.35 A pleasure: an evening practicing.
